Why I Create

I create because I'm constantly inspired by the world around me.

Sometimes it's a breathtaking sunset. Sometimes it's a winding back road, a quiet moment in nature, or the details of an old building. Other times it's something much deeper—a lesson God is teaching me, a passage of Scripture that won't let go of my heart, or an experience that changes the way I see the world.

I believe beauty is everywhere if we're willing to look for it.

That sense of wonder has led me in many creative directions over the years. I love acrylic paint pouring, jewelry making, and building miniature worlds through dioramas, dollhouses, and model railroad scenes. One of my favorite parts of those projects is adding the tiny details that make them feel alive. Those little touches invite people to slow down, look closer, and discover something they might have missed at first glance.

No matter what I'm creating, my goal is always the same—to stir something in the heart.

Sometimes I hope you'll smile. Sometimes I hope you'll feel curiosity or wonder. Other times I want to acknowledge sadness, brokenness, or the difficult seasons we all experience. Art has a way of helping us feel seen, and I hope my work does that in some small way.

Music is another expression of my heart. You can find my original music under Deb Love on most of the popular streaming services.

Many of my songs begin unexpectedly. A passage of Scripture, a beautiful landscape, or an ordinary moment can suddenly become a melody or lyric. Sometimes a place I visit inspires an entire song. Other times a quiet conversation with God becomes music before I ever write a single word down. Writing worship music isn't something I set out to do—it's simply my heart responding to God's presence.

My creative life extends into video as well.

On my YouTube channel; Backroads Art with Deb, I invite you to join me on my journey. Some days that means traveling America's back roads. Other days I'm in my studio creating, experimenting, or tackling a new project. You might find me building out my camper, working in my custom mobile studio, making art, or simply sharing whatever adventure life has placed in front of me.

Launching in Fall 2026, my second channel, God's Little Garden of Love, will reflect an even deeper part of my faith. Through Bible studies, devotional messages, and Christ-centered teaching, I will explore Scripture from a biblical perspective that isn't tied to any particular denomination. Whether someone is a lifelong believer, a new Christian, or simply curious about what the Bible teaches, my hope is that this channel will provide a welcoming place to explore God's Word, ask honest questions, and grow in faith.

When I travel, I don't just collect miles. I collect inspiration.  I also enjoy sharing my travels with those who are unable to make the trip yet still appreciate being able to experience it through my eyes.

The colors of a sunset might become the palette for a painting. The rugged beauty of Canyonlands might become a song. A quiet roadside stop might spark a new project or remind me of a biblical truth I want to share.

In the end, everything I create comes from the same place.

I'm simply walking through life with my eyes open, my heart attentive, and my faith on display. I want to notice the beauty God has placed all around us—not only in the breathtaking moments, but also in the broken ones, where His grace shines brightest.

If something I create helps you see beauty you hadn't noticed before, inspires you to make something yourself, or encourages you to take one step closer to God, then I've accomplished exactly what I hoped to do.
